You’ve probably seen dog owners that look a lot like their dogs. There have been numerous research studies showing people are attracted to familiarity and are drawn to pets that resemble themselves but what about pet names?
What you name your pet can reveal a lot about your personality, interests, desires, yearnings and what traits you want to see your pet express and how you want others to see you.
Everything in life is energy including words and names. Zeus for example carries the energy of power. People and animals understand and feel the energy of things even if they don’t speak the same language.
In Masaru Emoto’s famous book Hidden Messages In Water he showed studies of just taping a word to bottle of water and then showed pictures of the water crystals changing shapes depending on the word. Hate made the crystals become deformed and the word love turned the crystals into beautiful crystalline structures and patterns. There is very powerful energy in words that affects all living things.
Pet names can also express what you want in your life or what you want your pet to be to you. The name Buddy, for example, can mean you want your dog to be your friend and companion and someone to share your life experiences with you.
Angel on the other hand can mean you want your pet to save you from whatever darkness you feel in your life.
Brutus can signify that you want a protector in your life and so on.
Names can also be someone you look up to or aspire to be. Bella, the name of the lead female character from the Twilight series, is currently one of the most popular pet names amongst early teenage girls.
When choosing a pet name really consider what the name means and why this name is attractive to you and also consider what expectation this might be putting on your pet.
